Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Modular Construction?
Modular construction is a highly engineered and streamlined method of construction that is becoming increasing popular. Homes & buildings are designed and constructed in modules or sections. These sections are completed in an efficient and cost effective manner that is available through factory conditions. In most instances the modules are completed rooms which have drywall, flooring, wiring, trim and windows already installed. Light fixtures, plumbing fixtures, cabinets, interior and exterior doors are also installed where possible, reducing the completion work required onsite.

Once completed in the factory, the sections are transported to the site where the foundation or basement is ready for the sections to be set. The sections are set with the use of a crew and an experienced set crew. The roof is raised and the building is weather tight in most instances within a day.

The completion crew and subcontractors follow the set, joining the sections together to make a completed building. The electrician, plumber and HVAC subcontractors complete the necessary connections whilst decks, porches and other onsite construction is completed.

Like site built construction, inspections are required during the building process. These inspections occur both in the factory and on-site by local building departments.

What is the Advantage of building a modular home?

  • Speedy Construction –One of the most desirable advantages of a modular home is the construction time.  Your custom home will be ready to move into within months of signing a contract and within a fraction of the time required for site built construction. The initial factory phase allows the construction process to be much more efficient with 0 days of weather delay, and specialized craftsmen at each stage of construction. In most cases your home will be ready to be shipped in as little as 6-8 weeks from contract signing. Once your home is set, our completion time is condensed through our network or professional and reliable sub-contractors.
  • Consistent, Superior Quality – Built to meet and often exceed local and state building codes, our modular home construction is ] consistent and  superior through precision cuts, attention to detail and extensive quality control, available only in a controlled environment. The materials used are never exposed to the external elements unlike a site built house.  Quality is consistently monitored throughout the various stages of the construction process.
  • Cost effective – Modular home builders benefit from purchasing materials in bulk, reduced waste and no delays.
  • Fewer unexpected costs – before construction started the customer know exactly what the cost of the home from the factory will cost. Completion costs can still vary based on site conditions
****In fact the advantages of modular constructions are so great that modular construction is not just limited to single family homes. Today, modular construction is being used for single family homes, from cabins to luxury mansions, multifamily homes and commercial construction including hotels, lodges, medical facilities and retail stores. ****************************
